Management

Edward J. Gildea

President and Chief Executive Officer

With more than 20 years of success working for public and private, Fortune 250 and startup companies, including Quality Metric Incorporated, Grolier Incorporated and Kellogg Company, Mr. Gildea has been involved at the highest executive level in strategic planning, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, finance, corporate governance, negotiations, and domestic and international securities activities.

Further areas of global expertise include public disclosure, intellectual property, and new business development. Assignments have been varied and the consistent success of the teams directed by Mr. Gildea has proven the effectiveness of his skill to shareholders, board members, senior managers and other stakeholders. Mr. Gildea holds an AB from College of the Holy Cross and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.

David R. Allen

Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Administration

Until 2004, Mr. Allen was the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of Millbrook Press Inc., a publicly held publisher of children's books. Since 2004, Mr. Allen has acted as a management consultant and advisor to small public companies. Mr. Allen holds a B.S. and an M.S. from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. Mr. Allen is a Certified Public Accountant.

David A. Flannery

Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Operations 

Mr. Flannery has provided consulting services to a number of clean technology and environmental products companies in the area of strategic and tactical market planning.  He was Vice President & General Manager of a business unit and Vice President, Sales & Marketing for a vertical market at Clean Harbors, Inc. Prior to joining Clean Harbors, Mr. Flannery held positions of Senior Product Manager and Group Product Manager at Waters Corporation where he managed brands, product portfolios, and teams of product managers in the consumables and aftermarket services businesses. Mr. Flannery started his marketing management career at Walden Book Company, Inc. where he managed a customer loyalty program. Mr. Flannery earned an MBA and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University, and a B.A. degree from Holy Cross College.

Rick McEwen

General Manager and President of Industrial Waste Water Division

Rick McEwen began his career at CH2M Hill, where he was involved in various solid and hazardous waste projects. He then moved to Browning Ferris Industries (BFI), which was later acquired by Allied Waste, now Republic Services (RSG). Mr. McEwen was Senior Vice President of Laidlaw Waste Systems (Canada), a $500 million dollar division of Laidlaw Inc. Upon the sale of Laidlaw Waste to Allied Waste, Mr. McEwen joined Laidlaw Environmental Services as Vice President of Planning and Operations. There he was active in the integration of Rollins Environmental and Safety-Kleen, following their acquisitions by Laidlaw Environmental Services. Mr. McEwen's business and professional contacts were further developed recently as Vice President of Waste Management, where he covered post-collection for the Northeast. This division of Waste Management's network is comprised of 200 transfers stations and landfills, and has generated revenue of over $1 billion.

Mr. McEwen's tenure with Laidlaw Waste Systems as Senior Vice President of Canadian operations included residential, commercial and industrial services, such as recycling, disposal, energy from waste, and medical waste collection and incineration. As Vice President of Corporate Operations, his group managed $800 million dollars of activity, including transportation, supply chain management, purchasing, disposal/treatment technology, dredging/Brownfield re-development and dioxin management.
